Giving

Gifts to Trinity English Lutheran Church are important no matter the size. Your gifts are essential to Trinity because they sustain the faith formation, educational, and outreach programs that serve both members and our neighbors. Consistent generosity ensures that Trinity remains a place of hope, service, and spiritual growth for generations to come.

Ways to Give

  • Gifts in the form of cash, checks, credit cards, and ACH transactions will be accepted and recorded at face value.

Please consider monthly giving. A monthly gift may seem small, but your recurring gift ensures that Trinity can continue to thrive, serve, and make a lasting impact in our community.

  • Gifts of appreciated securities (stocks, bonds, and mutual funds) are a common alternative to gifts of cash and can offer donors a double tax benefit. Securities held for more than 12 months are deductible at full fair-market value up to a percentage of your adjusted gross income and any excess deductions can be carried forward for subsequent years. Donors bypass any capital gain taxes on the appreciated value, offering a smart way to make a difference for Trinity English. Contact Deacon Mary Lasits or Julie Shepperd for transfer information.

*Please consult with your accountant and financial professionals regarding your personal situation and latest IRS regulations.

  • Reflecting a nationwide trend, many donors and friends are recommending gifts from their Donor Advised Funds (DAFs). DAFs are established through the nonprofit arms of financial-services firms or through other sponsoring organizations, such as a community foundation. You can recommend a gift to Trinity English Lutheran Church by contacting your financial institutions or fund manager. The gifts will be sent directly to Trinity English.

*Please request your name and address be included, as some funds only include the fund’s name and address.

  • A qualified charitable distribution (QCD) can be a great way to reduce required minimum distributions (RMDs) and optimize the tax benefits of giving. Qualified Charitable Distributions allow individuals age 70-½ and older make tax-free donations directly from an IRA to a qualified charity.

*Please consult with your accountant and financial professionals regarding your personal situation and latest IRS regulations.

“For our family, Trinity English Lutheran Church is so much more than a building or a place we come on Sundays–it’s truly home. One of us was baptized here 57 years ago, and the other was welcomed in love through marriage 29 years ago. Together this church has shaped our lives, nurtured our faith, and given us a community where we belong.”

After nearly 100 years of faithful service, our stained glass windows require professional restoration to preserve their beauty and structural integrity. The effects of time, weather, and environmental factors have begun to take their toll on these precious works of art. Without immediate intervention, we risk losing not only their visual splendor but also their irreplaceable historical and spiritual significance.

This comprehensive restoration project is expected to exceed $1.1 million and will require more than two years to complete. The meticulous nature of stained glass restoration demands that we work on only one side of the nave at a time, ensuring the integrity of our sanctuary while maintaining our ability to worship.

HeartEdge is a movement that helps people discover what God is doing in their local church and community, equipping them to develop plans to be a transforming presence for good. The HeartEdge vision is articulated by Sam Wells in his book, A Future that’s Bigger than the Past. For more information, visit heartedge.org. To donate, choose “HeartEdge” in the drop down menu under “Fund”.
