Bringing church to the people
Bringing church to the people
Ash Wednesday, the first day of the season leading up to Easter, gives us the opportunity to remember our humanity, and to acknowledge that our humanity means we have made mistakes and will one day die to this world. The ash cross reminds us that Jesus shares our humanity.
Anyone is welcome to stop by the Lincoln Event Center at Parkview Field to receive the imposition of ashes on the forehead. We will be there from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. People who may not have time to attend a full Ash Wednesday worship service, or whose backgrounds don’t include receiving ashes may be drawn to the opportunity to participate in a relatively “open” setting. If you think this may be a meaningful ritual for you, please join us.
