Sometimes we want God to come thundering onto the scene, to make God’s presence known. We just know that if God shows up, all the wrongs will be righted, all the problems will be cleared up. We don’t understand, we forget that God has already given us all the tools we need to move into a new day and a new way of being. It isn’t God who has stopped communicating with us.

It’s our own behavior that puts up the wall between God and us. We think God is hiding, but the distance is actually our own doing. “Please remember we are Your people,” we want to say. As if God ever forgets! WE are the ones who forget that we are God’s. 

ll that is needed to get God’s attention is our request, our faith, our knowledge that God is with us, at all times. Even when all we hear is silence, faith is all that is needed to reignite the divine connection. In our sincere listening, we can begin to discern what message is waiting for us in that silence.
