Stewardship/Consecration Days

CONSECRATION DAYS 2010
REACHING OUT ... TOUCHING HEARTS ... MAKING DISCIPLES

Important update from Finance Committee: We are most thankful and blessed for the member response to the June 2010 letter mailed to the congregation from Stewardship Committee Chair, Bruce Dafforn and Finance Committee Chair, Reed Miller. Members were encouraged to return their 2010-2011 pledge cards enabling the Stewardship and Finance Committees to project expected offerings and assist in avoiding a deficit at the end of our church year (April 30, 2011). Responses to the letter follow below:
85 member units responded:
$47,371 additional pledges to the Operating Budget
$7,870 increased pledges or one-time contributions to Seeds of Faith
36 member units confirmed existing pledges
Pledges Received vs. Budget for Regular Offerings:
$862,832 = Pledges Received (as of July 7, 2010)
$1,160,401 = Budget for Regular Offeringsa
$297,569 = Remaining shortfall in pledges to meet budget for regular offerings
The chart above shows the Trinity English 2010-2011 Total Operating Budget and the budgeted General Operating Fund Receipts, which includes Offerings, Trinity English Endowment Income, and Other Receipts.
(As a follow up to the 2009-2010 fiscal year, approximately $21,000 was received from members completing their prior year pledge. These contributions reduced the deficit to $17,000. Again, we are very thankful.)

As we look to the future with everything that God has given us, we embrace God’s call to “like good stewards of the manifold grace of God, serve one another with whatever gift each of us has received.” (1 Peter 4:10) This, then, challenges us to reach out, touch hearts and make disciples in the upcoming months by especially committing ourselves to:

- Proclaiming God’s Good News of Jesus Christ—Evangelism

- Using God’s Gifts for a more Christ-like World—Stewardship

March 21, 2010 — Making DISCIPLES....

We too are Jesus' disciples, and we have many opportunities at Trinity English to show our discipleship. Discipleship means loving one another, studying God’s word, reaching out to others, helping others, and joining others to help us grow in Christ.

John 8:31, 32 …… Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”...
